COMICS
* Usscatastrophe- a great place to both read comics online & order amazing mini comics- cream of the crop!
* Space Ship EE - by Aya Takano, my favorite Superflat artist. Beautiful, even without being able to read it's minimal Japanese text.
* Dal Tokyo - by Gary Panter. A serialized comic from the master of punk comics.
* Milky Elephant - Some Flash stuff and some comics stuff mixed in together. Very pretty and lyrical.
* Daschund - Amazing comics resource put together by Andy Konky Kru. Early Comics History, a Comics Lexicon, and an exhaustive links page (with links to various full stories by many cartoonists available online!), and more.
* PaperRad - More free comics to get lost in, archiving mini comics by Ben Jones and more from the Paper Radio/Ft. Thunder axis.
* Dave Cooper - One of my favorite cartoonists, his website is filled with plenty of art from non-comics stuff, most of which I'd never seen before.
* Garo - Free japanese comics, downloadable in Acrobat format, from the first "sophisticated" manga magazine.
* Lambiek - Europe's oldest comic shop, worth checking out online for the "Comiclopedia" with entries for many many European and American cartoonists.
* Young Magazine - Wacky Japanese manga weekly. You have to dig for it, but there's comics to read on the site. Not only that, but the site is wacky in it's own right.
* Mumbleboy - Actually, Mumbleboy's stuff is all pretty much Flash animation, but if you don't see a connection, then you're missing something. Great Great.
* Strapazin - Euro comics Anthology.
* Meathaus - Group of experimental New York cartoonists who publish their own antho. Very nice, be sure to check out their sketchbook stuff online.
* The Comics Journal - One of the only magazines about comics published in english you should bother to read. In depth interviews, critical reviews/essays, and a snarky attitude keep this magazine in my regular reading list. For extra bonus time wasting fun they have a messageboard where you can go to post your thoughts with other snobbish buttheads.
ART
* Hiropon Factory ( Superflat ) - Basically Takashi Murakami's website, it also acts as a hub for all the other "superflat" artists, and is a neat site to see some of the most cutting edge Japanese artists out there.
* Giant Robot Store - A little pricey, but if you're interested in actually buying any superflat books or merchandise, this asian culture mag's online store seems to be the only place to do it in America. They have other neat books/zines & stuff too.
* Fort Thunder - Providence, RI group of musicians/printmakers/installation artists/cartoonists/etc. living together in a big old wharehouse. The site is intentionally hard to navigate, with ambiguous links & whatnot, but there's much to see.
* Jim Flora - Website showcasing the incredible record sleeve art of Jim Flora, put together by WFMU's resident music historian Irwin Chusid.
MUSIC
* Brainwashed - Music resource like no other, Brainwashed.com hosts many of the best underground bands' websites, as well as containing the Brain, a weekly music ezine filled with reviews and commentary. More caustic wit than you might care to shake a stick at.
* Pitchfork Media - Music news, reviews and interviews of the underground type, with a definite tip to the indie rock side of the boat. Pretty useful.
* Disquiet - Experimental electronic/ambient reviews, interviews, and thoughts. Almost a blog about good music, since it's mainly one guy.
* Forced Exposure - Online music store with an exhaustive selection and good descriptions for most items so you can know what that CD you're about to talk shit about sounds like.
* Other Music - New York based online store, with great selection and a worthy newsletter detailing the staff's thought's on each week's new arrivals.
* Aquarius Records - Pretty much the same as Other Music's description, except in San Francisco. Sign up for both lists, it's educational.
ALLIES
* Logjamming - Super cheap web hosting! It's where the Studygroup12.com site is parked..
* Killoggs - Loose knit community of youngsters blogging it up on the WWW. Plenty of humor, controversy & thoughtful asides. (You can still reply to posts if you don't have a head icon)
